THE MESSAGE
The gesture, a sign to mark a territory or to signify we've been there. The gesture, if we can return to it, includes way more than a simple action in its moving. The instinct, the direct relationship with the surface, implies ‘equipment’ or at least a certain prior condition to the process. Try to spray without shaking!
If Beavis and Butthead paint with a certain energy close to a free act, they are on total par with what certain artists produced and were able to produce in recent years.
The purpose is not to be in reach of a graphic or realistic perfection but to use what spraying contains, in front of the high and hyper-realistic mastery of painting. In an aesthetic move between war paint and symbol of the absurd ruin, certain gestures are achieved not without reminding us of the hunter, provided with a natural instinct and with a relationship undeniable to nature.
